The story of a box of chocolate
08.11.04 (10:43 pm)   [edit]
I was clearing my room this week. I found something- a box of chocolate that I bought in Washington DC. Still new and the seal not broken, even the price tag was still there. However, it was already 1.5 years old.

I am not sure how long a sealed chocolate will last but I know my tummy is more precious than the box of err...24 chocolates. I love chocolates but I treasure my tummy more. I am just too selfish to sacrifice my tummy. I am not qualified to be a chocolate lover.

What's so special about the chocolate anyway? What is it that I treasured so much that I never touch it for 1.5 years. I mean I knew it existed all the while and why I never bother to send it out or open it and eat it? Well, it's just $12.49, not sure how much inflation would jack up the price though.

For one reason, they are just too nice. I was told that there are sweet loving tender messages folded in each 24 chocolates. I bet it is the near perfect present for valentine day, or for one's birthday, or... Well, I never know if they indeed has such messages...I never will.

Why I bought it in the first place? I think I just felt that I might need a present to give away on my first valentine's day. Did I? I didnt.

Why I never sent it away? Fear, I guess was the reason. I was still a young hot blooded kid then that did things with his guts and instinct. Well, I bet I was glad that I didnt send it afterall, or regretted it?

Somethings are just like that box of chocolate. If you dont send it out, it will just be left in the bottom of your treasure box and left there to collect dust. And as years past by, you dont feel like sending it anymore. And as it goes, you even wonder if that chocolate is still as tasty, edible, although you know it once was guaranteed to be tremendously awesome.

So, in the end, I ended the life of that chocolate. I spared it the misery of waiting to impress other people. I let it forever be sealed in that wonderful box and left untouch. I know it once taste nice and will be forever be nice, only if I send it to someone.

sometimes, unless u take a bite, u ll never know how chocolate tastes like. It's useless to merely listen to people how tasty it could be...until u have the gut to taste it yourself. hotblooded or not, for one or not, sometimes instinct is the way to go...

Just some memories of the past. Cant imagine I kept it for quite a while although I should have thrown it already. Long gone memory that reminds you of your silliness. But if life is so perfect and predictable, what excitement could it be there?
